convertible furniture

Context

Design: Objects and Interactions is a studio class in the design minor at MIT. For this assignment, we were tasked with designing and fabricating a piece of furniture using two-by-fours and nails. The project is inspired by Enzo Mari’s Autoprogettazione.

Result

This project was designed with my small dorm room in mind. I wanted both a table on which I could do work, and extra seating space for guests. These two functions were combined into a piece of furniture that in one orientation functions as a bench for two, and in the other a table with two stools.
